FrontPage 2000 Publishing your
website using FrontPage 2000
NOTE: Instructions below assumes that you are
currently connected to the internet and have installed Microsoft FrontPage 2000 program
onto your computer. Please follow the instructions below to connect using FrontPage 2000.
Connecting to your domain:
- Start the Microsoft Frontpage 2000
program.
- Click "File" and
select "Open Web".
- Enter your domain name (ex: www.calview.com)
under the field "Folder name:"
- Click "Open".
- Enter your username and password
given from our administrators.
- Click "OK".
- Congratulations! You are now connected to your
web publishing site. (continue and follow "Using FrontPage 2000 to publish your
files")
Using FrontPage 2000 to publish your
files:
- In the Folder List column (left
side), you should see your website directory (ex: "http://www.calview.com")
with a "_private", "cgi-bin", "images"
directory. You should notice your "index.htm" and "readme1st.txt"
files as well.
- In the new_page_1.htm column
(ride side), you should see a blinking cursor which indicates you are in editing mode. You
can exit this file if you wish.
- At this point, you may edit "index.htm"
under the "Folder List" column by double clicking your left
mouse button and editing your page and saving your work when done.
NOTE: You also can navigate files to be uploaded from your local drive by
dragging files to the Folder List column.
- Click "File" and
"Exit" when publishing are complete or when done.
- Congratulations! You're done!
