FrontPage 98 Publishing your
website using FrontPage 98
NOTE: Instructions below assumes that you are
currently connected to the internet and have installed Microsoft FrontPage 98 program onto
your computer. Please follow the instructions below to connect using FrontPage 98.
Connecting to your domain:
- Start the Microsoft Frontpage 98
program.
- "Getting Started" window will appear.
Click "More Webs...".
- Enter your domain name (ex: www.calview.com)
under the field "Select a Web server or disk location:"
- Click "List Webs".
NOTE: "<Root Web> will appear in the FrontPage Webs found at
location:" window.
- Click "OK".
- Enter your username and password
given from our administrators. Click "OK" to proceed.
- Congratulations! You are now connected to your
web publishing site. (continue and follow "Using FrontPage 98 to publish your
files")
Using FrontPage 98 to publish your
files:
- In the All Folders column (left
side), you should see your website directory (ex: "http://www.calview.com")
with a "_private", "cgi-bin", "images"
directory.
- In the Contents of
"http://www.calview.com" column (ride side), you should see your "index.htm",
and "readme1st.txt" files along with _private, cgi-bin, images
directory.
- At this point, you may edit "index.htm"
by double clicking your left mouse button and editing your page and saving your work when
done.
NOTE: You also can navigate files to be uploaded from your local drive by
dragging files to the Contents of "http://www.calview.com" column.
- Click "File" and
"Exit" when publishing are complete or when done.
- Congratulations! You're done!
