Outlook 2000 Sending and
retrieving emails using Outlook 2000
NOTE: Instructions below assumes that you are
currently connected to the internet and have installed Microsoft Outlook 2000 program onto
your computer. Please follow the instructions below to send and retrieve emails using
Outlook.
Creating an email account profile:
- Start the Microsoft Outlook 2000
program.
- Select "Services..."
from the Tools menu.
- First, we'll set up your Calview Netlink email
account on your computer. Click "Add" and select "Internet
E-mail".
- Type "My Email Account"
under the Mail Account field.
- Type your real name as you wish it to appear
along with your email address in messages (ex: Mr. Smith) in the Name:
field.
- Type your Orgization Name under Organization:
field. (optional)
- In the "E-mail address"
field, enter your Calview Netlink email address. (ex: joe@calview.com).
NOTE: If hosting your domain, you will require to enter your domain name
instead (ex: joe@yourcompany.com).
- In the "Reply address"
field, enter your Calview Netlink email address. (same step as #7). Click "Apply".
- Enter "mail.calview.com"
in the Incoming mail (POP3): field.
- Enter "mail.calview.com"
in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
NOTE1: If you're a Calview Netlink Dialup user, and have been
instructed to use SMTP authentication, please follow extra steps:
8a. Place checkmark in "My server requires authentication".
8b. Click "Settings" and select "Log
on using".
8c. Type your userid under Account name field.
8d. Type your password under Password field.
8e. Place checkmark in "Remember password"
8f. Click "OK".
NOTE2: If hosting your domain, you will require to enter your domain name instead
(ex: mail.yourcompany.com).
- Enter your Calview Netlink username in the Account
name field. For example, user "joe" would enter joe
(NOT joe@calview.com)
- Enter your Calview Netlink password in the Password
field and click "OK".
- You will require to close Outlook 2000 and
re-open program for changes to take affect.
- Congratulations! You're ready to start using
Microsoft Outlook. Open Microsoft Outlook 2000 and click "Send/Receive"
for emails.
