v.6.01 Uploading & Downloading
using WS_FTP Instructions
NOTE: Instructions below assumes that you are
currently connected to the internet and have installed WS_FTP program onto your computer.
Please follow the instructions below to connect using WS_FTP.
Create ftp profile and connect using
WS_FTP:
- Start the WS_FTP program. Note:
You may need to click "Connect" if "WS_FTP Sites" window is displayed.
- Click "New" to create
new profile.
- Create a "FTP Site"
should be selected by a dot.
- Enter your "ftp.calview.com"
under title "with name:" field. (replace ftp.calview.com if you currently
have domain with Calview Netlink.
- Under the field called "Host Name or
IP Address:", double check that "ftp.calview.com"
is displayed. If so, click "Next" to proceed.
- Enter your username and password
given from our administrators. Click "Finish" to proceed.
- A title called "ftp.calview.com"
should now be displayed.
- Double click "ftp.calview.com"
to connect to ftp server. (may prompt user to enter password)
- Congratulations! You are now connected to your
ftp site. (continue and follow "Using WS_FTP to upload your web files")
Using WS_FTP to upload or download
your files:
- In the Remote column (right side), you should see
your ftp directory "/username".
NOTE: If domain hosting with Calview Netlink you will be displayed with a
"/". Click "ChgDir" and enter "/www"
and click "OK" to change to your web directory. (index.htm
or index.html will be your top level page)
- In the Local column (left side), you should see
your local system directory. Highlight the files you want to upload and click the arrow
that points to the right. (center of WS_FTP window)
- WS_FTP preview window will give you results if
transfers has completed.
- Click "Close" when
transfering files are complete or when done.
- Congratulations! You're done!
